Great news! If you recall my post from earlier this month, I had applied for one of the coveted 50 spots at the World Food Championships Blogger Summit being held this November in Orange Beach, Alabama.
I was accepted!! Woo hoo! I can not wait to attend this year…the schedule sounds absolutely fabulous and I will share it in more detail closer to the event. Right now, I want to toast the event with a little liquid libation! Here is my Strawberry Mint Cooler…just right for a hot and humid day in August!
Strawberry Mint Cooler
1/2 cup strawberries (approx. 4 large)
5 mint leaves
3/4 ounces simple syrup
2 ounces vodka
1 – 2 ounces lemon lime soda
Garnish – mint leaves and strawberries
Place the strawberries into a blender and blend on high speed until pureed. Using a fine mesh strainer, strain puree into a small bowl; set puree aside.
In a cocktail shaker, place the mint leaves and simple syrup, muddle. Add in the vodka and reserved strawberry puree; cover and shake. Strain into an ice filled rocks glass, top with soda to fill glass.
Garnish with mint and strawberry.
Makes 1 drink.
